The Malian hero of the hostage-taking in Paris will be naturalized French


He had saved several people by hiding them in cold rooms of the kosher grocery store, attacked last week by a terrorist in Paris. Lassana Bathily, a young Malian who worked in this store, obtain French nationality and the Legion of Honour in recognition of his bravery. He concealed a dozen clients and then managed to escape. He says:


"Among the people who were with me, there was a baby. I put them in the cold room, I closed the door and I said: you stay calm, I'm going out. After I took the elevator, I climbed. Lassana proposed hostages take the elevator with him to flee, but they did not want, for fear of being spotted by the terrorist. He found them unharmed after the police assault.


"When the hostages were released, they were congratulated me, they told me frankly thank you for thinking of this, I said, it's nothing, that's life. ''


Lassana lost a friend in the hostage-taking: his colleague Hyper Hide Yohan Cohen, 20, one of four victims of this terrorist attack.
