Hosni Mubarak may soon regain freedom, perhaps even in the next few hours. The Supreme Court has canceled Tuesday sentenced to three years in prison which was under the former rais in a corruption case. A new trial should take place, but this decision should allow the former Egyptian president to regain custody pending the new trial.
In detention for more than three years, Hosni Mubarak was cleared last November accusations of complicity in killing of protesters who had earned in the first instance, a sentence of life imprisonment.
Egypt's former president, however, was detained in a Cairo military hospital because of another conviction.
