Three French flag draped coffins. A vibrant national tribute was paid on Monday morning to police officers killed in the terrorist attacks last week in Paris. The ceremony was held at the police headquarters in Paris, attended by families and the highest state authorities.
In a very poignant speech, President Francois Hollande has honored Clarissa Jean-Philippe memory Merabet Ahmed and Franck Brinsolaro "they died in the fulfillment of their mission with courage, bravery, dignity. They died policemen. (...) Clarissa, Franck Ahmed died so we could live in freedom. "
Much emotion, too, at the beginning of ceremony, when the Head of State, Prime Minister and Interior Minister praised in turn each of the bereaved. Victims who were also made Knights of the Legion of Honor posthumously with summons to the Order of the Nation.
The ceremony was also the occasion to express the gratitude and respect of the French towards all forces. A national tribute to the 17 victims of the attacks will be held next week.
