Boko Haram attacked a military base in Cameroon

The Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram seems to extend its influence. After committing several particularly bloody attacks in recent days in northern Nigeria, jihadists have launched an offensive on Monday against a military base in north-western Cameroon. The Cameroonian authorities say they have pushed back the attack.

Boko Haram is becoming more active near the borders with Niger, Chad and Cameroon, which worries the authorities and neighboring populations.

Nigerian archbishop called on the international community in a on Monday, including requiring Westerners to be involved much more in the fight against religious violence.

In recent days, the violence has left hundreds, perhaps thousands of deaths in the city of Baga, located on the shores of Lake Chad in the far northeast, and the surrounding area. Witnesses speak of "Whole villages razed" by the djihadistes:http://ift.tt/14rNTlh.

The NGO is concerned about a bloody escalation of the Boko Haram actions against civilians.
