The special envoy euronews could follow the progress of the Chadian and Nigerian troops against Boko Haram in Nigeria.
That looks like the city of Malam Fatori in Nigeria after the terrorists were driven out: burned houses and deserted streets, a ghost town.
The people who fled the fighting are slowly returning to realize that their homes are gone. Some say the harshness of life under the rule of Boko Haram
"When Boko Haram arrived there five moisnous have left the city and we hid in the forest for a while and then we came back. Boko Haram took young women and married them by force its fighters. When they left town, they took the girls with them and massacred the rest. The fighters escaped in all directions, "said an old woman.
These weapons were seized from the hands of Boko Haram fighters during the capture of the city. The Chadian army claims to have killed hundreds, and have lost only nine of his men. The Chad-Niger forces retook twelve villages under the control of Boko Haram.
"The war against Boko Haram is led to the borders of Nigeria, Niger, Chad and Cameroon. Participation in this offensive, particularly Chadian troops reversed the situation on the ground and for the first time in years, the jihadists are losing ground, "says our special correspondent Luis Carballo.
