Greek debt: Tsipras going to Moscow to find support


Greek Prime Minister is expected in Moscow on Tuesday evening for a 48-hour visit. A visit during which Alexis Tsipras will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Greek leader appears in search of financial partners that can relieve Athens deal with the debt burden.

In this perspective, the Kremlin could offer Greece a discount on the price of gas it sells. It is in any case a raised track Tuesday by the business daily .


For its part, the Greek finance minister was on Sunday in Washington, where he met the director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Yanis Varoufakis assured that his government fully intends to meet all its financial obligations. Athens has pledged this week to 460 million euros due to the IMF ( )


War reparations


Moreover, the Greek government has estimated the amount of war reparations owed by Germany after the country's occupation by the Nazis during the Second World War. An amount which amounts to 278 billion euros, according to calculations made by the Secretary of State to the budget.


On several occasions, Berlin said he was out of question to pay anything today because repairs have already been paid in 1960.
