Alexis Tsipras and Vladimir Putin signed in Moscow on Wednesday a series of agreements to strengthen economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. Cooperation undermined since Moscow imposed an embargo on Greek food in response to EU sanctions, which the Greek Prime was said at opposite again.
At a joint press conference, the Russian president spoke of the revival of bilateral investment and increased cooperation in the field of energy, with a possible extension to Athens Project Pipeline Turkish stream.
Putin also stated that Greece had not asked for financial assistance to Russia, and that while the government of Alexis Tsipras is in negotiations on its debt with creditors. The Russian president, however, that Moscow could allocate term loans to finance joint projects between the two countries.
