Thousands of people including President Michel Martelly, the First Lady and Prime Minister Paul Evans took yesterday led a silent procession on the course of the carnival to honor the victims.
At least 16 people were killed on the night of Monday to Tuesday, electrocuted by an electric cable to the passage of a chariot parade. 78 people were injured.
The third day of the carnival was canceled because of the drama and three days of national mourning were decreed.
A state funeral will be held this weekend to honor the victims.
