Attacks in Copenhagen: the same target as in Paris?

"The Jewish community lives in this country for centuries, she is at home in Denmark, she is part of the Danish society."

The investigation continues in Denmark after the double shooting that left two dead and five injured in Copenhagen. Two individuals were formally charged Monday with the complicity of the alleged perpetrator, who himself has been shot dead by police. The man was identified as a Dane, 22, of Palestinian origin. He opened fire on a cultural center, where they attended a debate on freedom of expression and a synagogue.

A new target, as in Paris last month, the Jewish community received the full support of the Danish Prime Minister: "The Jewish community lives in this country for centuries, she is at home in Denmark, she is part of Danish society '' insisted Helle Thorning-Schmidt at a press conference. The head of the Danish government has also invited his fellow Jews not to emigrate to Israel, as suggested by his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu.

These attacks remind those committed last month in Paris. For besides the Jewish community, it is still the freedom of expression that was targeted.

A Swedish cartoonist seems to have been the shooter's target in the first shooting. Lars Vilks was the target of threats for several years, following a drawing of the head of the prophet on a dog's body.
