Europe on a war footing to face jihadists


A terrorist cell about to kill police officers in Belgium was dismantled on Thursday evening. The operation in Verviers near Liège resulted in the death of two suspects; 13 people were arrested. The terrorist threat level was raised a notch and soldiers will be deployed in Belgium, a first since the 80s.


A week after the jihadist attacks that killed 17 people in Paris, the investigation progresses: 12 persons, suspected of "logistical support as possible" to the killers, were taken into custody Friday for Paris. Among them, would appear a man whose DNA was found on weapons and a vehicle used by Amédy Coulibaly.


Crackdown on the Islamist movement in Berlin: ten searches were conducted Friday morning. Two Turks were arrested suspected members of a group that was planning "a violent act in Syria."
