The residence of Yemeni President is still surrounded by the Shiite militia Ansaruallah. Houthi fighters is their name, are already seized the presidential palace, looting weapons depots. The militia already controls much of the Yemeni capital since late September.
At the UN, the Security Council feared a coup: "The members of the Security Council encourage all parties in Yemen to resolve their differences through dialogue and consultation, and reject violence to achieve policy objectives and to avoid provocations, "said Cristian Barros Melet, the Chilean ambassador to the Security Council.
Shiite militiamen launched the offensive after refusing to accept a proposed Federal Constitution which would deprive the region access to the sea.
During the fighting around the presidential palace, the militia were supported by forces loyal to ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh. The current head of state Mansour Hadi took refuge in Aden, the southern capital.
