USA-Cuba mixed reactions among the exiles in Miami

The Cuban National Assembly formally approved the diplomatic normalization process with the United States. A largely symbolic gesture. This Saturday, President Raul Castro is a speech that will close the discussions of the biannual legislative session.

Three days after the announcement of this historic rapprochement, reactions were mixed among the Cuban exile community in the United States. In Miami, in the area known as "Little Havana", those who have suffered the Castro regime are skeptical. Some have called for protests this weekend.

Peter Hernandez is a son of Cuban immigrants. "These are people who have very very deep scars," he says, "mentally and physically after 50 to 60 years of failure of the Cuban government."

"It may be a new day," said Andres Garcia, a Cuban exile, "the beginning of something that will be very sweet or very bitter. We will make this experience, hopefully for the better. "

In all cases, the path to reconciliation will be long. Among the steps, the debate in Congress on lifting the embargo oldest in the world that looks fierce.
