Scenes of jubilation were held on Monday in Tunis, for the election of veteran Beji Caid Essebi policy at the first free presidential election in history.
The US and Egyptian presidents have congratulated the winner and the European Union believes that "Tunisians have written a page of history in the country's democratic transition.
"As a young Tunisian who participated in the revolution, that is for me the culmination of a part of our struggle for a social model" confided Khiriari Aya, a young woman who was celebrating the victory of Beji Caid Essebi street . "We won a battle, but now there is still rebuilding Tunisia," she concluded.
"This is father of us all, may God preserve" said a man brandishing a portrait of vaincqueur.
"He needs to keep its commitment and help us to live better" rappellait for its part another woman.
For the Tunisian press, the fight against poverty and armed jihadism are the two great challenges of the new power.
