"'We have seen in the corridors of friends who had been hit three or four balls, some dead, others wounded. There was blood everywhere.'"
The Taliban has reached a new milestone in horror by committing a massacre in a school in Peshawar, northern Pakistan. The toll was heavy: 141 dead, most children over the age of 10 years. A record that still expected to rise, dozens of people being hospitalized, some in serious condition.
It was about 10:30 when six armed men dressed as soldiers broke into a school for the children of Pakistani soldiers. The attackers went from class to class, with the goal to shoot a maximum of students. '' We locked ourselves in our class, but three men shot at the door and entered. They fired at us, '' said a survivor.
Quickly on the spot, the army needed several hours to control the situation. She faced heavily armed terrorists and equipped with explosive belts, as some would have operated. Eight hours after the start of the assault, the army announced the death of all attackers.
The survivors are traumatized. They attended a carnage. 'When the shots rang out, our teachers told us to sit in a corner and head down says a student. After about an hour, when the shots were a little calmed down, soldiers arrived and we were evacuated. When we got out, we saw in the corridors of friends who had been hit three or four balls, some dead, others injured. There was blood everywhere. ''
In a message to claim the Taliban Movement of Pakistan (TTP) evokes a response to the military offensive by the Pakistani army on the main refuge of North Waziristan. If Taliban attacks are common in Pakistan, this one is unprecedented in scale.
