Enhanced security in Kenya after the massacre of Garissa

Kenya is inconsolable, two days after the killing of the high school in Garissa. 148 people died in the massacre perpetrated by Somali Shebab Islamists. One hundred people were injured, including dozens in serious condition.

A curfew was imposed from dusk to dawn, especially in Mandera town in a neighboring region.

"We have heard that Mandera could be the target of a terrorist attack now or soon, during these Easter holidays, said the military. So we put in place measures to ensure security in the Mandera region. "

Details increasingly squalid emerging about the circumstances of the massacre. The assailants first killed everyone without distinction prior to spare Muslim students and to target Christians.

"He took his phone and he said to the lady: I'll kill your child now, that's the last time you hear his voice. Listen, I'll kill her. And I heard a shot. "Says one woman.

Five people in connection with the attack were arrested according to the Minister of the Interior and a reward of 200,000 euros is offered for the capture of an al-Shabaab leader, Mohamed Mohamud, described as the mastermind of the attack.
