A week after the Catholics, Orthodox Christians celebrate Easter. In Jerusalem on Good Friday was marked by the procession on the Via Dolorosa, Way of the Cross followed by plusiuers tourists, as Pauline:
"It's really special for me because I am an Orthodox Christian who comes from the United States. All my life I wanted to come to the Holy Land and it is very moving to walk this year in the footsteps of Christ. "
In Gaza the Orthodox faithful gathered in one of two churches of Palestinian territory. 3000 Christians living there, mostly Orthodox.
Cairo Coptic Christians celebrate Orthodox Easter.
Here the young Egyptians are invited by a chocolate shop to paint eggs:
"What's great, says Lauret is that Easter is something that everyone shares in the country. Christians and Muslims celebrate it together, it's a celebration that brings us together. We all have a vacation day. "
In Egypt we eat on this occasion salted raw fish, a tradition that dates back to the time of the pharaohs.
