In Afghanistan, the Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack on Thursday against a court in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif in the north. This attack has a dozen dead civilians among the victims.
All the attackers were also killed. There were 8 in number, dressed in military uniforms. They first threw grenades at the court, and then opened fire. They also set fire to a building.
The site was cordoned off by police. The exchange of fire lasted six hours.
There are 2 years almost to the day, the Taliban attacked a court in a province in western countries. There were 46 dead and hundreds injured.
The operation of this Thursday comes as much foreign troops withdrew from Afghanistan.
It is now the Afghan forces who are on the front line to fight the Taliban insurgency.
