United States: the treasure that has transcended time

The size of a shoebox, the dust accumulated for decades, we are in the presence of a little treasure. The oldest time capsule found in the US, unveiled by a museum in Boston. It dates from 1795 and contains parts including copper and silver, a copper coin with the portrait of George Washington, newspapers, playing cards, or an official seal.

"We will now identify, drill down, photograph, review them with a number of scientific, says Pam Hatchfield, curator of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, in particular to determine the type of corrosion on the metal."

The capsule was placed in 1795 under the government building of Massachusetts by then Governor Samuel Adams, one of the founding fathers of the United States, and a patriot of the American Revolution, Paul Revere. The two men wanted and leave a trace of their time for future generations. Mission accomplished.
