Greece Christodoulos Xiros, a physically turned fugitive


He had changed his appearance to avoid being recognized. But Christodoulos Xiros, one of the most wanted fugitives from Greece, was finally arrested Saturday. The fifties was an ex-member of the Greek armed revolutionary movement of 17 November.


"He had changed his appearance: he had long hair, a beard, glasses," said the head of the Greek police, Dimitris Tsaknakis while the fugitive was brown, with short hair and had a slightly coated figure according images up to one year.


"He had a gun. Had cleared the number (...) "of the weapon. It contained 14 bullets. "He did not resist when arrested."


After escaping from prison while on leave there almost a year, Christodoulos Xiros had made threats in a video posted on the internet.

He had been convicted several times for life imprisonment for his involvement in violent actions of the November 17 group. The organization disbanded in 2002, had claimed 23 murders between 1975 to 2000.


Christodoulos Xiros was arrested while riding a bike Anavyssos south of Athens.

According to our correspondent, the police monitored the area for three months.
