François: world leaders must condemn fundamentalism

"The human being becomes a slave (....) sometimes even distorted forms of religion"

"The human being becomes a slave (....) Sometimes even deviant forms of religion." This phrase is that of Pope Francis, during his annual course responded to the attacks in Paris. He also condemned rape as a weapon of war, or the trafficking of women by Boko Haram in Nigeria:

"I express the hope, the pope said Francis, that all religious leaders, politicians and intellectuals, especially those of the Muslim community condemn all fundamentalist and extremist interpretations of religion that try to justify such acts of violence."

But before the ambassadors from around the world, the Argentine pontiff also quoted rapprochement between the US and Cuba, a positive example in a very dark overall picture of what the Pope identifies as a "true world war that takes place in pieces ".
