An application to fight against intolerable increase in rapes in India

While the number of rape continues to grow strongly, the authorities move into top gear for against attack.

According to police in New Delhi, the increase was over 31% for the last twelve months despite the many manifestations of women, anti-rape and the mobilization of the international community campaigns.

Rape occurs every seven minutes in the country. Another appalling figure, the police is aware that two thirds of the cases and a third of them are still under investigation.

To fight against this growing scourge, New Delhi police has launched a mobile application called Himmat meaning "virtue."

In an emergency, it allows women to send distress calls to the police control room and parents. The application also triggers an audio and video recording of 30 seconds and sends the ultra-fast site.

Himmat works very secure and can be activated by shaking the phone or double pressing the power button.
