Srebrenica: International Justice confirms several prison sentences


The Hague Tribunal on Friday confirmed the life sentences of two former officials of the Srebrenica massacre.


Popovic was a lieutenant colonel in the army of the Bosnian Serbs. At trial, he was convicted of conspiracy to commit genocide.

Ditto for the old Colonel Ljubisa Beara.


For these two men, the judges of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia have upheld the sentence of life imprisonment.


Three other defendants had their sentences of imprisonment maintained or slightly shortened. These three individuals were found guilty of aiding or encouraging the crime of genocide.


Munira Subasic is responsible for an association that brings together the mothers of the victims of the massacre.
