Recovery of Boeing Air Asia: bad weather delays operations


The victim identification work began in Surabaya in Indonesia, now that we know that the flight QZ 8501 Air Asia has damaged many Java Sea. For now, only nine bodies were recovered, of the 162 persons on board the aircraft.

The Airbus company Air Asia was to connect Surabaya Sunday in Singapore, but about forty minutes after takeoff, the pilots diverted their course because of bad weather. Soon after, the plane disappeared from radar screens.


In the crisis center set up at Surabaya airport, relatives of missing collapsed to the announcement of the discovery of debris and body at sea. Of the 162 people on board, 155 were Indonesian nationality.
