Ebola epidemic that marked 2014

In one year, the epidemic has claimed more than 7,700 deaths of nearly 20,000 cases recorded, mainly in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea. Damage is also economically significant. According to the World Bank, growth was strongly impacted in the affected areas. Sierra Leone and Guinea could even plunge into recession in 2015, when both countries were promised a strong economic growth.

"People do not want to travel to West Africa for meetings or conferences. The whole region has suffered even though it would have been even worse if the epidemic had spread to countries like Nigeria, "said Daniel Richards, analyst at Business Monitor International.

While the fight against Ebola is not yet complete, the effect on the long term, difficult to assess, also announced devastating. The epidemic has left thousands of orphans. Many children have also been out of school for a year. Finally, it's the health system of the affected countries, which must be rectified.
