François Turkey: Orthodox liturgy and ecumenical blessing


The last day of the visit to Turkey, Pope Francis attended the Sunday morning liturgy in the Patriarchal Church of St. George in Istanbul, an office headed by Bartholomew 1, the highest dignitary of the Orthodox Church.


The pontiff makes and politeness, since the day before, the patriarch had taken part in the Mass in the Catholic Cathedral of the Holy Spirit.


The two men then signed a joint declaration and lunch together, demonstrating a willingness to inter-religious dialogue.
