Ferguson celebrates Thanksgiving in the quiet

For several nights the city was plagued by violent confrontations between police and supporters of Michael Brown, the black teenager unarmed killed last August by a police officer. For Thanksgiving this Thursday, the pastor of the Church of St. Mark had called to heal the wounds and form a block between different communities.

"What happens now, it's really sad. I pray for both families. I pray and I remain hopeful that everyone is at peace, "said a parishioner.

In the streets, the dead calm. No police cars burned or attacked by demonstrators. A truce for now but will it last? Since the decision of a grand jury not to prosecute the police officer who killed Michael Brown, dozens of shops and businesses were partly destroyed.
