At least 5 dead and 29 injured in a suicide car bombing in Erbil on Wednesday morning, in Iraqi Kurdistan, a region usually spared the violence that shook the rest of the country.
The attack was not claimed but seems to bear the mark of the Islamic State and comes as Massoud Barzani, the president of the autonomous region of Kurdistan, regretted that the international coalition does not give enough weapons to help Peshmerga to deal with groups of Jihadist fighters.
From their side, the Iraqi federal forces regained control of the road between Baghdad and Erbil and the main refinery in Baiji country where Iraqi soldiers took positions.
Baghdad also transferred Wednesday $ 500 million to the government of Iraqi Kurdistan. These funds, in exchange for 150,000 barrel per day of crude, should help the Kurdistan to pay the salaries.
