Forty people arrested in Hong Kong

Hundreds of pro-democracy protesters on Monday tried to surround the seat of local government. The police immediately responded with pepper spray to disperse the crowd. Thousands of people have also poured into the Tamar Park, near the Parliament.

These protesters are mobilized for more than two months for free elections in this semiautonomous Chinese city. A committee of British parliamentarians who wanted to investigate the relationship between the UK and Hong Kong, would not have received approval from Beijing.
