The composition of the Greek government was announced. It had been several hours on Tuesday that the rumors were waiting to be confirmed, but Nikos Pappas, Chief of the new Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, finally broke the suspense.
One of the heavyweights of this government is Yanis Varoufakis, Minister of Finance. Radical among the radicals, he fights against what he calls the "odious debt". It is he who will be in charge of negotiations on the debt with creditors of Greece.
Within this new Greek cabinet, the number of portfolios has been reduced, and several of them were grouped into super-ministries, such as Education and Environment.
The leader of the sovereigntist party Independent Greeks, Pannos Kammenos, which allowed Syriza to form his coalition, gets him the defense portfolio.
