First Council of Ministers, first measures announced and tumble the Athens Stock Exchange on Wednesday. The head of the new anti-austerity government Alexis Tsipras, who will receive on Thursday the visit of President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz, spoke of his priorities, including a renegotiation with its European partners to find a "just solution" and "sustainable".
"We will prove that all the Cassandras wrong. We will not go to a destructive confrontation, but we will not continue a catastrophic policy, a policy of submission, "warned Tsipras.
Other priorities for the government: to find "a solution to the humanitarian crisis", "help the poor". And, while the unemployment rate is over 25% and pensions and wages fell sharply.
The new Employment Minister Panos Skourletis, announced its intention to restore the minimum wage to 751 euros against 580 currently.
