Humanitarian aid from the European Union arrives in Ukraine

Three cargo planes landed in Dnepropetrovsk Airport, 250 kilometers from Kiev, with on board equipment, warm clothing and blankets for the thousands of refugees who fled the fighting in the east.

Starting, refugees have lost everything.

"Nobody lives in our street, everything is destroyed" tells Nataliya Lysenko. "I just took some summer clothes, my papers, and that's it. I could not take anything else, we were bombed ... "

The Ambassador of the European Union to Ukraine, Jan Tombinski, came on site and the alarming situation of refugees.

"First impressions are very sad," he said. "These people are losing everything they owned in Donetsk and Luhansk."

"Eighty four thousand displaced people are officially registered in Dnepropetrovsk region," explains the corresponding Euronews in Ukraine Maria Korenyuk. "They do not just come Donetsk and Luhansk but also of Crimea. To help refugees cope, the authorities promised to create new jobs and to offer vocational training. "
