The Egyptians and beer: archaeological discovery in Tel Aviv


Pottery fragments with more than 5,000 years have been discovered in Tel Aviv.


Pieces of container for the production of beer, the national drink of the Egyptians.


"The beer was consumed by the entire population without age difference, gender or status. It was produced using a mixture of barley and water was partially cooked and allowed to stand for fermentation in the sun, before we added different fruits and concentrated to give flavor to beer " , said the Israeli Antiquities Authority.


This discovery extends the known zone of Egyptian occupation in the region.
