The Romanian ex-finance minister Darius Valcov was under house arrest in connection with a corruption investigation. He is suspected of having received bribes of some two million, when he was mayor between 2011 and 2013, and have conducted financial transactions incompatible with their duties. A new finance minister was appointed Friday by the head of government Victor Ponta. This is Eugen Teodorovici that was previously Minister for European funds.
