World Day against AIDS: the struggle continues

A condom to love in any security. In South Africa, as elsewhere its use is a must and it must be remembered in this world day against AIDS. Yet we die and always AIDS.

In the rainbow nation sky fire Nelson Mandela, more than one in 10 is living with the virus, it is the country with the most people in the world.

AIDS continues its relentless struggle and hope has returned ten years after the first free distribution of anti-retrovirals, but remain vigilant, "Now, the problem is the level of prevention, because there are more and more people who do not use condoms. The campaigns focus more on treatment without encouraging people to think about prevention, that's the current problem, "said the representative of AIDS in South Africa.

The World Health Organization is on the same line. If 15 million people could benefit from treatment in the world in 2015, the best treatment is prevention, which remains difficult in some areas such as the sex workers, among homosexuals, drug users and seniors particularly in the West as explained the doctor.

WHO also calls on both demographic giants of the world, India and China to take more action against AIDS. Most experts believe that the number of HIV is largely undervalued it.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in the early 80s, more than 25 million people died. The scientists are continuing research to finally reach a vaccine.
