Boko Haram does not prevent Nigerians to vote. The presidential and legislative elections continues this Sunday in 300 polling stations affected yesterday by technical problems. The crowd seems as strong as ever and the counting began as Lagos, the capital.
Fearing further attacks, Nigeria took the lead Sunday and led air strikes against positions of the Islamist group on the outskirts of the city of Bauchi, in the north-east.
The presidential election this weekend is considered the closer since the country's independence. Goodluck Jonathan asks voters to give him a second term despite a very critical review. The outgoing president faces the former General Muhammadu Buhari. Partial results are expected in the day.
