Turkey: 8 candidates alleged British jihad soon expelled

Turkey is preparing to expel eight British nationals arrested near the Syrian border. They are actually 9 (men, women and children including a baby) who have gathered in recent weeks in Turkey. The authorities suspect them of wanting to go to Syria, apparently to join the ranks of the Islamic state group.

This case has had a particular resonance in Britain since one of those arrested was the son of a local elected Labour.

These nine British nationals were in the province of Hatay, a few kilometers from the Syrian border.

When they leave Turkish soil, the alleged jihad candidates should be notified of an exclusion order in Turkey.

In February, three British teenagers had visited Syria. London was then criticized Ankara accused of condoning the flow of jihad candidates ( ).
