USA: "$ 15, this is the minimum to live here"

In the United States, thousands of people took to the streets of major cities on Wednesday. Mobilization to demand a minimum wage adjustment.

The protest movement began there over 2 years under the slogan "Fight for 15 Dollars." The minimum wage is currently in a range between 7 and 10 dollars an hour depending on the city or sectors. Protesters require spending 15 dollars. They also want the ability to organize.

Jemere Calhoun works in McDonald's fast food chain. "15 dollars, this is the minimum to live here," he says. "And we are also fighting for the establishment of trade unions, because, he says, it is the only way to impose these rules to companies that ignore".

In processions, many fast food employees, but also construction workers, health personnel ... all denounce the growing inequality in the United States and the illusion of the "American dream".

They hope that their demands will be addressed by the candidates during the campaign for the 2016 presidential election.
