More than a thousand migrants landed Thursday in Italy


More than a thousand migrants have landed again on Thursday, this time in the ports of Sicily. These are often Somalis, Eritreans who fled their country via Libya.


Others have been less fortunate. 400 migrants have died Sunday in the sinking of their boat. While sea search is continuing, the survivors, 150 in total, were divided into reception centers in southern Italy.


An Italian volunteer explains that three girls for example have lost their families. Many survivors also suffer from exhaustion or contagious diseases such as scabies.
