The International Whaling Commission challenges the alleged hunting plan "scientific" Japan in the Antarctic. A plan already challenged last year by the International Court of Justice. According to experts, Tokyo pursues commercial goals in scientific pretenses.
The country of the Rising Sun has killed 251 minke whales in the Antarctic during the 2013-14 season, far from its original objectives because of the actions of pro-environment NGO Sea Shepherd.
Norway is, with Iceland, the only country in the world to allow whaling, harpooning hundreds of whales each year.
