Roman Polanski appeared Wednesday before a Polish court to study an extradition request from the United States. The Franco-Polish director is sued by the American justice in a sex scandal.
On Wednesday, the director gave evidence. The court's decision is expected in the next few days. If he refuses extradition, the case is closed. If approved, the final decision rests with the Minister of Justice.
In 1977, Roman Polanski had sex with a minor in California. He was convicted, jailed briefly, and then he fled the United States, taking refuge in France and Switzerland.
In 2009, the filmmaker was arrested in Zurich at the request of American justice, and under house arrest for a few months but has not been extradited.
