A black hole is a celestial object of so strong that nothing inside gravity can escape not even light. These objects can neither send nor reflect light and are black, astronomy this means they are invisible.
This is the physicist John Wheeler, one of the last employees to Einstein, who invented the term black hole at the end of the 60s to refer to what was called previously occluded stars.
