Tax cooperation agreement between the Vatican and Italy

This is a first between the two states. The

Vatican and Italy signed an agreement on Wednesday to fight against tax evasion. This agreement provides for the taxation of financial income institutes that have deposited at the Vatican bank.

Italy has already signed with Switzerland, Liechtenstein and the Principality of Monaco of ending bank secrecy agreements to fight against tax evasion.
