Hungary: the extreme right won his first seat in direct majority vote

Jobbik yesterday signed a resounding victory in the west. Voters in the district of the city of Tapolca have placed first the candidate of the extreme right, Lajos Rig. He obtained 35.3% of votes cast in front of the candidate of the conservative Fidesz party in power who collected 34.4%.

"It was really tight. We are very pleased not only me but everyone who voted for us, who have supported our program and we have the honor to trust us, "said Lajos Rig.

This victory shows once again the in Hungary trying to polish his image to forget its excesses regularly denounced by the World Jewish Congress.

If Jobbik already had twenty seats in parliament, he had obtained them with a complex system combining majority and offsets lists.

This first direct election is a serious warning to Prime Minister Viktor Orban, whose conservative party Fidesz has lost its "super-majority" of two-thirds in February.

The next general elections are due in 2018 but the current polls give the Conservatives and the far right elbow to elbow.
