Portuguese director Manoel de Oliveira died Thursday at the age of 106 years.
He died of a heart attack at his home in Porto.
He had celebrated his 106th birthday in December, participating in the screening premiere of his latest film "The Old Restelo", a short -métrage he described himself as "a reflection on humanity ".
