In the United States, Eric Harris, an African American, 44, was the victim of a police blunder. Fatal.

This happened last April 2 in Tulsa Oklahoma. The scene was shot by police with a hidden camera. The video was published on Saturday.

The victim was about to illegally sell weapons to undercover cop. A police vehicle involved. Eric Harris tries to escape by running. He chased. Reserve deputy sheriff of 73 years, Robert Bates involved in the chase. He shoots Eric Harris, then the ground, with his gun, thinking to use his Taser. "I'm sorry," he adds.

Hence the anger of the family of the victim who is surprised that a man as old can do well on a team of intervention.

"If this man had actually received the proper training, explained André Harris, brother of the victim, it can make the difference between a gun and a Taser. Unless he actually had really intended to shoot him. "

Robert Bates is an insurance agent, a reservist since 2008. According to the US media, this wealthy man offered equipment to the local police. "That does not give him the right to play cops," said the family of the victim.

He was charged with "manslaughter with gross negligence" by the prosecutor of the county of Tulsa. If convicted, he faces between 2 and 4 years in prison.

"Mr. Harris was on the run, said Shannon T. Clark, the local sheriff's office. He did not obey orders. And even when he got stopped, he continued to struggle. The Bates assistant approached. He wanted to use a less-lethal weapon. Inadvertently, he used his gun. "

In the video, we hear the victim, pinned to the ground, saying, "I can not breathe." One officer says, "we do not care of your breath."

Eric Harris died in hospital later.
