Turkey intercepts nine British candidates for jihad

Turkish police arrested nine British citizens who were trying to illegally cross the border into Syria. Individuals arrested near Hatay, allegedly intent to join the ranks of the Islamic State (EI) or Al-Nusra Front. They were to be repatriated to Britain. Last month, the Turkish authorities had intercepted three British teenagers who appeared to be from jihad.

Turkey has reinforced its border controls after suffering sharp criticism from the West, especially Britain, which accuses him of having let go recently in Syria, three of its nationals, young women.

In all 600 Britons were gone to jihad, most via Turkey. Half of them would be since returned home.
