In Kenya, the security forces intensified their operations at the University of Garissa attacked at dawn by an Islamist commando al-Shabaab.
Around 5:30, while on campus students are still asleep, a terrorist commado penetrates inside university attended by 800 students from across the country.
An explosion and fire, students will courrent shelter but not everyone can escape. The balance sheet is still provisional but it is heavy: at least 70 killed and 65 students injured.
Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has called vigilance: "Everyone must be on guard in the country while we face and need to defeat our enemies."
The Shebab spokesman said after the attack that the commando mission was to kill those who are against them.
The terrorists separated the students based on their religion. They left from healthy and sound Muslims, keeping hostage the others. It is unknown at the time the number of students still held.
The operation of the security forces now coming to an end. Four attackers were killed according to the Ministry of Interior.
Shebab, Somali Islamists linked to al Qaida have increased raids in Kenya in recent years.
