Cubans do not all have the same view on the historic meeting between Raul Castro and Barack Obama, which ended more than half a century of Cold War. Those who live on the island, as Lazaro met in the cafe in Havana, is hopeful:
"All Cubans expect that the US government assouplisse the embargo against Cuba, because we Cubans also have the right to breathe freely."
You must go to Miami, Mecca of Cuban immigration to the United States to meet with much less enthusiastic Cubans:
"This meeting between Barack Obama and Raul Castro is like a feast for them, as if they were friends, shake hands, while Cuba is a haven for international terrorism, will prevail Miguel. Obama knows this. Despite these meetings between Obama and Castro, or any meeting in the hope of a change, Cuba will never change. "
Salvador, he would like to believe:
"I hope that Castro will use this meeting to allow Cubans to live better, not only economically but as freely as in the United States."
Recent polls have shown that 59% of Americans and 97% of Cubans are in favor of rapprochement. The question is whether the hope of Cubans will be rewarded.
