The Swiss vote for a new national anthem


The Swiss anthem, composed by a priest in 1841 will change and it is the people who choose the words and music of the new national anthem.


Online voting opened on Monday (https://www.chymne.ch). Six contributions are subject to public choice. Six different texts translated into 4 languages ​​each representing Switzerland: French, Italian, German and Swiss Romand.


To participate you must have a mobile phone number in Switzerland and have a musical ear. One vote is possible by mobile phone.


The voices of Internet users rely 50%. The votes of the members of the jury of experts including musicians, journalists and members of choirs and sports associations, as the other half.


The first round of voting will define three finalists. The second round of online voting will last until the end of August and it conaƮtra the final choice of the public on 12 September. The public can watch live the final, which will be broadcast on public channels, and vote by sms or call.


The current anthem, the famous Swiss Psalm piety, alpine landscapes and climate, but it was not really unanimous. We also thought it did not reflect the country without its political and cultural diversity.
