Podemos does not create surprise to regional Andalusia


The regional elections in Andalusia had a test for Podemos within one year of the legislative.

Anti-Liberal Party, who believed in a victory, however hard to compete with the Socialists, who are required in their stronghold.

Their candidate, Susana Diaz wins over 35% of the vote.

Podemos simply 3rd place behind the right of the government leader Mariano Rajoy. The Popular Party won more than 26% of votes.


"We are the actors of this change, we are the actors of new political alternatives, new initiatives to respond to emergencies in the majority of the population in our country, which are abundant. The political scene in Andalusia and Spain has already changed, "said Teresa Rodriguez, Podemos candidate in Andalusia.


With nearly 15% of the vote and 15 deputies, Podemos welcomed to have weakened bipartisanship. Conservatives and socialists shared 80% of the vote in Andalusia in 2012 against 60% at the end of the election.


"The Socialists retain power but regional in Andalusia have opened a new stage with the Andalusian Parliament which now sit five political groups. The People's Party is the biggest loser in this election, "said our special correspondent in Seville Paco Fuentes.
